Female Snowy Owl on L.I. They venture from the sandy beach of L.I. from far north of the Artic Circle. They have many names including the Polar owl, Artic owl, Scandinavian night bird, great white owl, and terror of the north. They are listed as vulnerable by (IUCN) International Union for Conservation of Nature.
